HOW TO TRAIN YOUR MIND TO BE A POSITIVE POWERHOUSE
A question I am often asked is, “How are you always so positive?”
While I do believe that having a positive vibration is something that naturally radiates inside of me, I also have to acknowledge that from a young age I unintentionally trained myself to “look at the bright side.” To “believe the glass is half full” and focus my energies on goals I wanted to achieve. Thoughts are things, after all.
Little did I know that years later I would learn about Living In The Green Zone & that all of these years I had been doing so. That this was the key to my positivity. Today I want to share with you this incredibly magical practice that I continue to implement in my everyday life.
Do you ever notice that when you wake up on the wrong side of the bed, almost everything goes wrong? The first words out of your mouth are, “Ugh! I’m so tired. I don’t want to get up. WHYYY?” From here you rush to get dressed, burn your toast, your coffee is too hot and hits the roof of your mouth and you hit every single red light on the way to work? This my friends is no coincidence. This is energy.
The vibrations that you put into the universe the night before, sulking that you don’t want to get up for work, you’re exhausted, you have too much on your plate is exactly the energy you are going to receive the next day. Before I dive into The Green Zone, I want you to stop and ask yourself, “Where am I on this chart right now?” BE HONEST. Self-awareness is key.
No matter where you are on this chart, it is important to know, that at one point in our lives we will all be on every side of the scale. Life is not perfect. THINGS HAPPEN. However, it is how we react to these situations that determine the next path or chapter of our lives.
People feel your energy and you are a magnet to whatever energy you are putting off. Looking for that next promotion? Have a quota at work you are trying to hit? Trying to finish your book? Wishing you could hit that fitness goal? Wanting to live a more fulfilled and happy life? Living in The Green Zone is your ticket.
So what is The Green Zone & how can you stay there? There are three zones you can fall into. The Green Zone is when you are empowered, appreciative, confident, believe in yourself, grateful, happy, full of love and passion. The Yellow Zone is when you are content and just getting by in life. Sometimes hopeful, sometimes optimistic, bored, overwhelmed, frustrated and sometimes pessimistic. The Red Zone is when you are doubtful, fearful, worried, disappointed, angry, hateful, jealous, insecure, blaming and powerless. As you can imagine, whichever zone you are in is the energy you are going to attract and invite into your life.
The goal is to live your life consistently in The Green Zone and to be able to acknowledge when you are falling out of The Green Zone so that you can surround yourself with the proper environment, people & mindset to continue to live a fulfilled life. Most successful people in the world are consistently living in The Green Zone and you can also!
Need help on how to get on level 1-7? Start with something like this: for two minutes, OUT LOUD list everything you are grateful for in your life. Take a walk, BREATHE, enjoy Mother Nature, meditate, call someone you love and let them know. Give a loved one a big hug, take a bite of your favorite treat and enjoy or put on your favorite song. Do ANYTHING that makes you smile.
The more self-aware you are of which zone you are in, the easier it will be to have a stable, consistent, inspiring environment around you. Surround yourself with people who help bring out the best version of you. If doing a particular activity doesn’t serve you anymore, move on. Above all, the moment you hear those negative thoughts creeping into your head, stop, take a breath and rearrange those thoughts, so that they are positive.
There are plenty of times in my life where I might’ve started to think, “Man, this is hard. I don’t know if I can do this. Will I fail?” Instead of giving into the Yellow and Red Zone I take a minute to myself and rearrange those thoughts. “This is easy. I CAN do it. I am going to crush this.”
So when you wake up tomorrow morning, start the day off with a positive thought. Be appreciative that you opened your eyes. Think about the top five things you are grateful for. Tell yourself it is going to a phenomenal day. Like attracts like. Throw on a podcast, your favorite song, or speaker and get in the zone.
Living intentionally and on purpose is a must for a happy and healthy life. As you retrain your thoughts and environment, The Green Zone will come organically and you will begin to notice a shift. If you have any questions about achieving growth in The Green Zone, let me know!
