Birthday Recap: How to Throw a Glam Speakeasy!

Although 2020 has been quite the year of all things chaos for us, I have to admit; I think this birthday has topped them all for me! My sweet fiancé surprised me on July 30th, with a quarantine date night bringing the party to us. Our first stop was movie night featuring one of my favorite films (Gentlemen Prefer Blondes), with dinner afterward at a new hot spot he called Chateau Smith (adorable, lol - he really ordered in Vitello’s for us), followed by a nightcap and dancing at a speakeasy he created in our kitchen! The music transported us back in time, the twinkle lights set the most romantic and timeless ambiance, and the red velvet/cake batter birthday cake from Carvel was the most sensational icing on the cake.

This magical birthday experience showed me that with a little creativity, a lot of heart, and some extra detail help from loved ones (in this case, my mama), anyone can make someone’s special day feel extraordinary.
